And I'm Back!

I seemed to be missing for awhile. Well, ok this could mean a few things. Yes, I haven't been posting as often due to being so busy with work and such, and I am trying to get back on track with crafting and regular posting. But I was also missing due to my domain not working. Thanks domain hosting website which shall remain nameless just incase you somehow notice my rants and f*ck up my page again!

Basically, it went down like this... I've always had automatic renewal which comes off my credit card April 10th, and the domain is renewed. Never done it manually. So, time for renewal and get a notice of it from said domain host. Then I get another email from said domain host saying they couldn't renew. I logged into my account and notice that all my information including credit card number was completely blank. Apparently when they upgraded their own website, it deleted everything. Way to let peeps know said domain hosting bastards!

So, I diligently enter my account info, credit card number, it says "Thank you! Your next automatic renewal will be scheduled for April 10th, 2013!" So, I figured everything was good, yes? Wouldn't you think so as well??

Well slap me silly and call me Sally, no it wasn't! I went to log into my website and the site was not available. Right on! I log into my account again, and couldn't for the life of me navigate ANYTHING on their site. Before it was stupid people simple, know what I mean? You log in, and all the info is right there. The domain, when it was paid, anything I wanted to know. Now? French-Seal that! I can find more information on making Facebook ads, than I can about my own domain. Now that's helpful!

I notice a little live chat doohickey and decide to give it a go. The guy (We'll call him "Ronald"... well, his name actually was Ronald...) was really nice at first with all his "Hello! How are you! How can I help you today!" then he became a downright ass when I used the wrong "terminology" and gave me a lecture between "website hosting" and "domain hosting". Well, stick a finger up my ass Ronald! Excuse me for using the wrong word! Yeesh. I'm not a computer wizz like you, obviously!

Anyhoo, even though it was set up for "automatic" there was absolutely nothing "automatic" about the 8 step process I had to take in order to "automatically renew" my website domain. But then it was going to take 24-48 hours to actually work again. Lucky for Ronald, it's working.

But, in other exciting news that I don't think I've shared on here yet, I was at a Flea Market a few weeks ago and found a 1930's camera that STILL WORKS and I brought it to my trusty camera place, Burlington Camera, to check it out and guess what?! They had compatible film!! So when I stop dancing long enough to take some photos, I'll take a roll, bring it back to them, they'll process it, see if there's any light leakage, and we'll go from there!

Coolest part is the guy that was helping me showed me an app on my iPhone that is a lightmeter, so it'll tell me what settings I need to put the camera at based on how light it is where I'm taking a photo! Right on!

Alright, off I go again. But before I do, I can't help but share this:

Could they be any cuter? I mean, really?

I plan on crafting soon, I swear! Have a great week everyone!

Linking your Facebook Fan Page to your profile!

Good afternoon my lovelies!!

Okay so, here's the thing. In the last blog I asked how in the world you can put your facebook fan page into your "work" on your own profile. I've seen some people that have done it, but couldn't for the life of me figure it out. Unfortunately, the couple of people that had done it, had no clue how it happened, they just entered their business into their work profile and their own business page came up for them to click on, so it was directly linked. But alas, no SassmowthDesigns came up for me, or anything close. So when I did put SassmowthDesigns as my work, it gave a clickable link, yet that link went to a brand new business page that was blank. Not good.

So, I searched and I searched and I finally found a fix! Although it was a fix only for the old facebook profile and it didn't work with the new one. But in the comments section of the blog, walla! Some young guy had figured it out. And I'd like to let you all know, how in the world to do what I just took way too long to do :)

See that little "Works at SassmowthDesigns on Etsy" up beside my profile pic? Ya, so that's what USED to link to a blank stupid page. But now when you click that link, it goes to my business page!! See? I even have the icon now...

Okay so, first things first. You need to have Firefox as your internet browser. To all who don't, I'm sorry! This is the only known way at the moment. Although if you don't have Firefox, I highly suggest you get it. Hands down crushes Internet Explorer with features and with security. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now.

If you already have Firefox, that's awesome. Go to google, and type in "Firefox Web Developer Add-On" Then obviously, click "Download". Once you've downloaded it, you need to restart Firefox for it to take effect. Once it has, you'll see an added toolbar at the top of your page...

Now that you have the add-on, we can begin! First, go to your business page. You'll need the url ID number. If you have your own url (for example, mine is http://facebook.com/sassmowthdesigns) so you don't actually see a number there. BUT, if you click on "edit page", your ID number appears at the top. Your URL will look something like this: http://www.facebook.com/SassmowthDesigns#!/pages/edit/?id=123959812345&sk=basic

The info you need from that, is the id#, so just the 123959812345 in my case. Copy your number.

Now, head over to your profile, click on "edit page" and then on "Education and Work". When you're typing in your own business name, most people won't get their own business page showing up. Like me..

So, here's what you have to do:

Enter a made up employer, like I did (which worked fabulously) PooBumDickie...

Hit "add job" and a details list will come up for you to fill in.

Now, since you added the Web developer to firefox and you now have that doodad toolbar up top, you'll see one of those items on the toolbar that says "Forms". Click on it, and select "Display Form Detail". Once you do that, your page ends up looking something like this:

Now, at the top of that detail form where you'll see the grey box, paste your business page id number like so...

Then, click Save Changes (or Add Job) at the bottom of the page. If all goes well, your business page icon will show up, the business name (not PooBumDickie) and it'll be a clickable link from your profile! Weee! Oh, and just go up to "Forms" and deselect "display form detail" to get all those crazy boxes to go away :)

I hope this helped everybody! Yeah for discovering how to do things! :) Have a great Wednesday everyone!
